Temperament

The Lhasapoo is a loyal, intelligent and affectionate breed. They make wonderful family pets as they are good with children and love to please.

Coat

Their coat is usually long, silky & curly. The Lhasapoo coat is hypoallergenic, for the most part. They lose only small amounts of hair when bathing or brushing.

Coat Colors

The Lhasapoo can come in a variety of colors. Some of those colors include Honey, Sandy, Red, White, Cream, Black, Brown and Parti.

Coat Care

Daily brushing is recommended to avoid any knotting or matting or their coat. Cleaning around the eyes & ears are also important to help avoid infections. This designer breed is mostly hypoallergenic and sheds very little.

Health

The Lhasapoo life expectancy is between 13 – 18 years. Health concerns to watch for in this breed are:

• Eye & Ear Problems
• Heart Disease
• Kidney Problems
All mixed breed dogs have a better chance of having less health concerns because of their genetic diversity.

History

The Lhasapoo is a designer breed created through the cross of the Lhasa Apso and the Mini Poodle breed. The Lhasapoo is recognized by the ACHC (American Canine Hybrid Club). This designer breed can also be registered through IDCR (International Designer Canine Registry) and ICA (International Canine Association, Inc).
