The Petite Golden Retriever is sweet, affectionate, confident and pleasant. They are great with children and make for wonderful family pets. This breed is very sociable and make wonderful companions.
The most common health issue to occur in the Petite Golden Retriever is hip dysplasia. Other health concerns to watch for are:
• Elbow Dysplasia
• Progressive Retinal Atrophy
• Heart Disease
All mixed breed dogs have a better chance of having less health concerns because of their genetic diversity.
Their coat is usually long and silky.
Petite Golden Retrievers require regular grooming and the occasional bath. They should be groomed at least once a week, and every day during heavy shedding. They should be bathed every two months. Their coats shed somewhat during the year, but are known to shed profusely twice a year.
