Temperament

The Golden Labrador is intelligent, affectionate, confident and pleasant. They are great with children and make for wonderful family pets. This breed is very sociable and make wonderful companions.

Coat

Their coat is usually more like the Lab, which is short and dense but can also be longer in length and slightly wavy.

Coat Colors

The Golden Labrador comes in a variety of colors including chocolate, yellow, black and golden.

Coat Care

Brushing twice a week will help remove dead hair and keep their coat looking nice. Bathing every other month can also help maintain their healthy coat.

Health

The most common health issue to occur in the Golden Labrador is hip dysplasia. Other health concerns to watch for are:
• Epilepsy
• Elbow Dysplasia
• Progressive Retinal Atrophy
• Heart Disease
All mixed breed dogs have a better chance of having less health concerns because of their genetic diversity.

History

The Golden Labrador is a designer breed created through the cross of the Golden Retriever and the Labrador Retriever. The Golden Labrador is recognized by the ACHC (American Canine Hybrid Club) and can be registered through IDCR (International Designer Canine Registry) and ICA (International Canine Association, Inc).
