Temperament

The Cavachon is very affectionate, loyal & has a gentle manner. This designer breed enjoys play time and does excellent with children. They love attention & are eager for their owner’s approval.

Coat

The Cavachon coat is soft, curly & stands away from their body.

Coat Colors

The most recognizable Cavachon color is champagne & white, usually having light brown marking on the face & body. Other colors can be black & white, tricolor, brown & tan and other.

Coat Care

The Cavachon is for the most part hypoallergenic. Grooming every 4 – 6 weeks will prevent any shedding. It will also help prevent any tangling or matting of their hair. Brushing daily will also help maintain a healthy coat.

Health

The Cavachon is a relatively healthy cross. Some health concerns to watch for are:
• Hip Dysplasia
• Ear & Eye Infections
• Seizures
• Mitral Valve Disease (MVD)
All mixed breed dogs have a better chance of having less health concerns because of their genetic diversity.

History

The Cavachon is a designer breed created through the cross of the Cavalier and the Bichon breed. The Cavachon is recognized by the ACHC (American Canine Hybrid Club). This designer breed can also be registered through IDCR (International Designer Canine Registry) and ICA (International Canine Association, Inc).
